Computer freezes while reading the CD-ROM due to loose CD-ROM controller card.
Cause:
The CD-ROM drive controller card is loose.
Solution:
Push down on the card to reseat the controller card into its expansion slot. Replace the computer cover, connect all power cords, and turn the computer on.

1) Using even pressure on the card, gently press down on the expansion card to securely seat the card into the expansion slot.

2) Replace the computer cover.
3) Reconnect the power cords to computer and external components.
4) Turn on the computer.
